The following inquests have been held by J. Carlyon, Esq., county coroner

On the 6th inst., at Penryn, on the body of Elizabeth Knuckey, single woman, aged 38 years. The deceased on Thursday last was employed at Messrs. Mead's bone mills, feeding the mill; when her foot unfortunately slipped into the shoot and she fell into the mill. A boy working above, saw the accident, and immediately called to the engineer to stop the mill, which he did almost immediately, but before that could be done, the poor woman's leg was taken off close to the thigh, and the lower part of her person was much torn. She was removed as soon as possible to her home, where she died the same evening. Verdict, "Accidental death." —The Coroner and jury went to view the mill before taking evidence, and suggested that a railing should be placed round the opening to prevent a recurrence of such an accident; and Mr. Mead promised to attend to the suggestion.
