In 1841 he is at home aged 11 In 1851 he is at home aged 19 and a Copper Miner Found dead in Cook's Kitchen Mine, Illogan. Buried on 22 OCT 1855 in Wendron aged 22 The Royal Cornwall Gazette of 26 October 1855 reported that a Coroner's Inquest was held by W. Hichens, Esq., coroner, on the 22nd inst., in the parish of Wendron, on the body of John Knuckey, aged about 22 years. Deceased worked at Cook's Kitchen mine, in Illogan. On Friday last he was employed there in rolling stuff to a pile, and was found dead in a pit near to the spot where he was so employed. He was subject to fits, and it is supposed that he must have been seized with one as he was passing by the pit and fell in. Verdict, "found dead." |
