Married Mary Ann Todd on 20 MAY 1857. They had two sons: William born in 1858. He died 21 NOV 1858 in Brighton, Tasmania and John Clemo born on 27 SEP 1859 in Brighton, Tasmania.
William was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment on 8 JUL 1868 for assaulting Emily Mary Easton aged about 10 years of age.
William was killed on 5 JAN 1882 in the bush near Gladstone by a tree falling on him
